Postcards to Politicians, 4/28/17: To Donald Trump, On Our National Parks
I hate to harp on one topic in regards to Donald Trump’s many heinous, illogical or plain dumb actions, especially when so many issues involve life and death. But Trump’s disregard for the environment strikes a chord with me, a chord with the brown noise as the root note.
It helps that, in his campaign to paint his opponents as the true perpetrators of a possible government shutdown, he threatened to interfere with my personal plans. It’s easy to get riled up when something will affect you directly. I promise not to always be so selfish.

Donald,
This week, you blamed Democrats’ refusal to fund your border wall (isn’t Mexico supposed to do that?) as the reason why National Parks would be closed this summer.
You’re planning to cut the Dept. of Interior’s budget by 12%, the EPA’s by 31%, and your federal hiring freeze is leaving the NPS woefully understaffed.
Please stop lying and spinning everything to make your opponents look bad. It’s very unbecoming.
I have plans to visit the park on the other side of this card this summer. Don’t screw this up for me.
Thanks,
