Postcards to Politicians: Donald Trump, 4/7/17

Do our politicians read the letters we send them? Barack Obama did — a small sampling of them, anyway. It’s doubtful anything I say over the phone, write in an email, or put on a postcard will ever reach the ears, eyes, or desks of our representatives, but it’s worth a shot.

I’ve decided to start sending postcards to politicians every Friday. Postcards force you to be direct and to the point. They’re also easy to share with others through this… medium.

Here’s a postcard I sent out this morning to President Trump. I bought a pack of postcards depicting U.S. national parks, and I used this one first because it’s a park that’s near to me, literally, and dear to me.

And here’s what I wrote. I think I’ll have to get more succinct in the future. One because 140 characters seems to be about the limit for this guy, and two because it’s hard to write that small. I need some slogans or easily digestible messages for future addressees.
